Challenge

The TSA CBRA areas at Orlando International Airport are high-demand environments where agents are required to stand for extended periods while performing critical security functions. These zones, located in and around complex screening equipment and walkways, lacked ergonomic support, contributing to fatigue and potential workplace injuries among staff. A durable, supportive, and customizable anti-fatigue solution was needed to meet the demands of this high-traffic and operationally complex space.

Solution

SmartCells® partnered with TSA and airport facilities management to design and install a comprehensive anti-fatigue flooring solution tailored to the unique layout and operational needs of three distinct CBRA zones. The project involved:

• 2,313 square feet of 1″ thick SmartCells® Black Anti-Fatigue Tiles
• Installation in three key TSA areas including:
  • Around sensitive TSA machinery
    
  • At individual workstations
    
  • Along highly trafficked walkways and corridors
• 132 linear feet of 12″ wide ramping for smooth, trip-free transitions and ADA compliance
• A combination of custom-cut tile sections and modular configurations to accommodate equipment footprints and various workstations
