Anti-Fatigue - Custom Flooring
20220914_193009

From standing at the reception desk to prepping dental rooms and working on patients, dentists, hygienists, and technicians spend a significant amount of their workday active and on their feet.

The long hours are not only uncomfortable, they can make it difficult to provide excellent patient experience
At SmartCells, we believe that Life Shouldn’t Hurt™, and we specifically design products to keep standing workers such as dentists and other healthcare professionals comfortable and safe on-the-job.

Our patented SmartCells offer a stable surface layer over cylindrical cells, which soften under impact and resist bottoming out. The optimized design creates the perfect balance of support and cushion, for maximum fatigue relief while minimizing the risk of injury. This allows dental professionals to stay safe and comfortable while providing excellent patient care.

In addition to our unique cushioning ability, thanks to their rubber-based formulation, SmartCells mats will not absorb liquid and are easy to clean which allows for better infection control processes.
That’s why leaders in the healthcare industry, such as Kaiser Permanente, trust SmartCells Anti-Fatigue cushioning solutions to keep staff comfortable.

In September 2022, SmartCells installers completed the installation of several baggage drop-off areas for American Airlines at the Portland (PDX) airport. Previously airline workers were working directly on the floor with standing mats scattered around the area. Smartcells installed custom black flooring that was seamlessly fit around the curvature of the baggage carousel, desks, and fixtures around the work area.

The total square footage is 207 ft. with a yellow ramp measuring 12 linear feet. It is rectangular, 4.5′ x 42′ with a curve on one end due to the bag belt, opening the area up to 7.5′ for the last few sections on that end.

There are 14 sections in this area, but everything was glued 100%, with the ramp double-sided taped to the floor. The floor is carpeted, which can sometimes cause issues with the SmartCells walking or shifting, but this install gripped great and everything was nice and snug. We placed rows of double-sided tape under the tiles strategically to help secure the floor in place.

Since the ticket counter was going to be in use during installation, we were able to organize with them to have them use one half of the counter, while we installed the other half and switched once we had that half completed.
