Overview

TSA agents at Redmond Municipal Airport are on their feet for extended hours in fast-paced, high-traffic environments. Prolonged standing—especially on hard surfaces—can lead to fatigue, discomfort, and reduced productivity. To address these challenges, SmartCells partnered with the airport to install a custom anti-fatigue flooring solution tailored to meet the unique demands of TSA operations.

Project Details

SmartCells installed 684 square feet of 1″ Black SmartCells Anti-Fatigue Tiles around and between TSA security screening equipment, with precision layouts to accommodate both fixed and mobile machinery. To ensure a smooth and hazard-free transition between SmartCells surfaces and existing flooring, 78 linear feet of 12″ ramping were integrated into the installation.

The flooring configuration was customized to fit several high-traffic areas including baggage screening stations. These targeted installations were designed to directly improve TSA agent comfort and endurance during long shifts.
