Since 1990 SmartCells has been developing a unique patented cushioning technology with the intent to create products that benefit humans in the areas of comfort, injury prevention and performance.

SmartCells Technology is extensively used in:

• Fall Injury prevention applications in senior care and for at risk individuals
• Training and Therapy applications for rehabilitation of injuries, and reducing impact forces on the body while training.

Fastech Labs

Fastech Labs was acquired in 2015 as a joint venture to integrate SmartCells Cushioning Technology into insoles and orthotics. The result of this was enhancing the Fastech heat moldable insoles with SmartCells cushioning and the creation of our consumer brand, Zelus insoles.

SmartCells continues to offer solutions for custom insoles and orthotics and supports providers in this market.

Zelus Insoles

Launched in 2017 the Zelus insole featuring SmartCells cushioning quickly became the preferred insole of collegiate teams, runners, hikers, and individuals. Whether used in elite competitions or everyday activities the unique SmartCells cushioning goes beyond the limitations of foams and gels in providing cushioning, comfort, and support providing an unique experience and ultimate solution.

How SmartCells Work:

SmartCells® Anti-Fatigue Mat technology products have a “resting state” – much like a non-compressed spring – with a natural, supportive, upright force that provides a compressible, soft surface that is also stable and supportive.

2. Cushion on Impact: The More Force, the Softer it Becomes

SmartCells® Anti-Fatigue Products compress and absorb pressure/impact energy from standing, weight-shifting, walking, or from the impact of a fall. After reaching a “critical threshold” the cellular structures soften and collapse laterally, without bottoming out.

3. Return Energy: In Phase with your Natural Movement

Like miniature springs, SmartCells® Anti-Fatigue floor mats and products store impact energy until pressure is reduced or eliminated. The SmartCells® resilient rubber material and structure work “in-phase” with body movements to actively rebound, releasing their stored energy back into the body.
